Just another reason why I never buy official Microsoft products for my Xbox 360 and always go with my own alternatives. Got a Slim 4GB with Kinect for $100 so I took the offer. Decided to crack my old hard drive open since I definitely was not going to live off 4GB of space and Xbox’s compatibility with USB drives are horrible as I’m about to explain. Inside was a cheap Seagate 20GB hard drive which sells for about $20-30 on a good deal. But they sell that for $80 which dropped down from it’s original price of $100. So $20 for the hard drive and $60 for the case? Sure. Not to mention the shitty SATA/ATA connection. Glad I use a homeplug kit as opposed to their overpriced wireless receiver.
I definitely wasn’t paying for the 250GB hard drive since I could buy a terabyte for that much so what I’m planning on doing is buying a WD Corsair 250GB, using boot and executable programs, format it to 360 compatible and just rock with that. I’ve already put the old hard drive in the new one.
Plus I’ve already figured out save state mods through USB drives even though every time I turn the Xbox off it has to reformat the drive which means I had to start Mass Effect 2 about 4 times over. Doesn’t really matter since I just need to finish insanity, import the character and mod the save for unlimited money, resources and unlocks.
